Come now is the time to worship

So, A few days ago I was having a conversation with a friend. We were talking about church, and she said something that really caught my attention: "I enjoy church every Sunday, and throughout the week. I love serving, and worshiping in a variety of ways. :)
" And this got me thinking about worship and how most Christians view worship. I believe that if I were to ask what worship is, most would say that it’s when you sing songs and worship Jesus. And that's a good answer, but why should we have a time of worship? We should be worshiping throughout the week, not just Sunday. What we do during the week, whether school or sports or music, should be worship to God. God has given you gifts, blessed you with the ability to do the job you are in, gave you the brain for the class you are taking, the skills and body to play the sport you are playing. So give it back to Him, make it a form of worship, glorify Him in what you are doing. Our culture is quick to complain, but take a moment before you voice your complaint to Facebook, and instead glorify your king. Give thanks and praise for what he has given you. That's worship. Giving back, thanking, praising the savior. This can also be applied to prayer. We as Christians should be praying continuously. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Never Stop Praying. It’s a part of giving thanks. We should never be afraid to ask someone if they need prayer, and never be afraid to ask for prayer. The chorus of the song “Let us Pray”, by Steven Curtis Chapman, says
“Pray, let us pray, everywhere in every way
Every moment of the day, it is the right time
For the Father above, He is listening with love
And He wants to answer us, so let us pray”
This is such an encouraging song. We should always be praying and worshiping no matter what is going on.
I am far from perfect and need to remind myself constantly that I should be doing these two things, so if you see a brother or sister who is having trouble, point them to the king of kings.
I hope this has encouraged you to begin to look at yourself and see the way that you can worship in your everyday life.
Keep worshiping and praying, for we have a Great King!
